The thing I'm looking at is that even at your discounts, you're still using a basic wood case, just dollied up a tad. They are good cases, for sure, but functionally, they are no better than a $70 TKL or something. You're not getting any more protection for your(or your clients) extra $100. But what is really scary is that someone will think that because these cases are so pretty, and more than double the cost of a regular case, that they'll also provide enough extra protection to fly with, bang around, etc...

I only offer the Calton as an option, except for overseas sales, where it is a requirement. Not everyone wants one, needs one, or likes them, for that matter(can't understand that one as they don't weight more than the wood ply cases). I dunno, in my mind, you either have a basic, yet solid case, that costs nothing extra, or go all the way to Calton. I see no reason for going in between.

I have a few of the 70.00 cases, 65.00 actually
65.00 Dollar Case There VERY light weight, flat on top, No dome, very little padding, but worth every penny of 65.00! The 100.00 cases have the same padding as the 65.00 cases, but WITH a domed top. Better protection. The Cedar Creek AVS case I took delivery of yesterday was 168.00, would have been 20.00 cheaper if I bought 2 or more, making it 148.00 as John How said. There padded 10 times better, there at least 50% heaver in total weight, I can weigh both later today. And so much more of a case than the cheaper 65.00 units. IT ain't all Fancy dancy stuff. There better built. Just my 2 cents.

Ummm, y'all need to do some searching and find wholesalers.....

The cases I talk of aren't those cheapies that Elerly seels, but cases that retail for around $180(but sell for 40% of it. They're padded and built just like your custom one(I wouldn't be surprised to find that they're all made in the same place...), with arched top and back, if you ask. The $65 Elderly cheapies can be had for around $20-$30...

You're professional, with a business liscence, right? Skip the retail outfits and head to the wholesalers.Mario38560.5772106481

Calton prices are dependant on how many you buy per year. They get real pissy when we discuss their prices in public(don't ask how I know this...), so just call 'em up.

I use both the TKL cases and the Calton Cases. I once got a Cedear creek case and will never deal with them again. I had all sorts of problems getting it and then they tried to charge me $100 more than the quoted price. Same case as I buy here in Canada for around $80 CAD ($65US) just doesn't have the fancy name on the side. I do recomend Calton cases to anyone who we be traveling though. One customer picked up her guitar and went on tour for a month. In that one month of air travel (four to six flighs a week) the guitar case looked like it had been dragged behing an old pickup down a dirt road. Anything short of A Calton case and I would be building her a new guitar today. Case looks bad but is still as solid as ever and the guitar is perfect. If you arn't traveling by air get a TKL Arch top case but otherwise go for a Calton. And search out the wholesalers, you will save between 40-60%

Cedar Creek and TKL are one in the same

Beat me to it John!

Yep, this Cedar Creek case came in a box clearly marked TKL.

It would be more appropriate to say that Cedar Creek is a subsidiary of TKL. TKL owns Cedar Creek and Harptone.

I use the TLK 8900 series Arc top. I think they are a good case. but for basic ly 15 bucks more I think I will try one or two of the Cedar Creeks like Lance is showing. looks to have about 1/4" more padding than the TLK 8900 series. I love that gold interior WOW

Cedar creek is the custom case branch of TKL. Most TKL cases are made in Canada and can be bought from the Factory if you order big numbers at a time. Most of us can't do that. GWMusical has been mentioned here a few times and the cases he sells are TKL cases but without the name. Call him about prices for builders. There are a few cases that TKL and cedar creek actually make themselves such as the Size 5 case but they are few and far between.

micheal you should be able to get the 8900 (professional series) cases for
about $50-$65... So the case like lances would be a $100 jump. I still
wanna try these access cases..If I could just find some contact info....

Hi guys, Lance, I got a Cedar Creek in just like that for an OM...same interior, brown outside...I ordered 4 cases from Cedar Creek, and I'm not sure I'll use them again...every time I called felt like I was interupting, delivery was 3 weeks late, the price (148 in the beginning) went up about $20 per case, and the 2 cases ordered with shrouds didn't have them and Cedar Creek won't return my call...that said, the cases look great and really dress up my guitars, but I think Ameritage gets next crack at it...nice guitar Lance!
